MULTAN: An under-trial theft accused hurled a shoe at a civil judge in the courtroom over languishing in jail despite issuance of his bail orders.
Accused M Ijaz appeared before Civil Judge Zahid Qayyum and raised a hue and cry, saying that the court had granted him bail but he was yet not released due to absence of his release orders. The judge was hearing the case when all of a sudden, the accused hurled his shoe at the judge. The judge left the courtroom and went to his retiring room.
Talking to journalists, the accused said a theft case was registered against him and he was granted bail. He said his release orders could not reach the jail authorities and he was still languishing in the jail.
