Factdate Engineering thrash AA Pakwan by 105 runs
KARACHI: Left-armers Hasrat Nawaz and Rizwan Qureshi spun Factdate Engineering to a mammoth 105-run victory over AA Pakwan in the latest round of the Southern Zone matches in the 19th National Seniors Cup Cricket Tournament 2017-18 here at the TMC Ground the other day.
According to the information made available by the Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA), Fact Date Engineering, who had been defeated by Omar Associates in their previous game, proved too good for AA Pakwan.
Batting first, after winning the toss, Fact Date Engineering amassed 189 for five in the allotted 25 overs with opener Tanvir Ahmed (78 off 67 balls), Wasim Usmani (45 off 40 balls) and Mazhar Hussain (35 off 21 balls) being the major contributors.
AA Pakwan lost their way, while chasing the target of 190 despite the solid knock of opener Iftikhar Ahmed (49 off 50 balls). They were undone by left-arm spinners Hasrat Nawaz (4-7) and Rizwan-Qureshi (3-24) with off-spinner Mohammad Imtiaz (2-10) also bowling well.
AA Pakwan lost their last six wickets for only 15 runs to be routed for 94 in 19.2 overs. Hasrat Nawaz was adjudged Man of the Match for his four-wicket haul.A total of 103 outfits from 50 cities, having been divided in 31 groups, are taking part in the tournament being sponsored by Omar Associates (Pvt) Ltd with Naya Nazimabad being the co-sponsors.
