KARACHI: Sindh were off to a poor start when they lost two kabaddi matches on the opening day of the 4th Inter-Provincial Games, which began at Qayyum Sports Complex, Peshawar.
Sindh went 13-41 down to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and lost to Punjab 12-30 in the second fixture. Earlier, Punjab downed Balochistan 41-9 and KP defeated Balochistan 31-11. KP emerged as the overall winners of taekwondo by winning ten gold, nine silver and three bronze medals.
Punjab got three gold, nine silver, and four bronze to finish second. FATA took the third position with four gold, one silver and 16 bronze medals. Sindh finished fourth with three gold, two silver and ten bronze medals. Laiba Ijaz of KP defeated Punjab’s top seed Sidqa 3-1 with the game scores being 11-8, 9-11, 11-6 and 11-7. In the individual event, Komal Khan, the current under-19 champion, defeated Noor-ul-Ain 3-0 with the set scores of 11-8, 11-6 and 11-9.
