Islamabad: The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has planned structural reforms in its examination system.
The board will hire a consultant for the purpose by the quality and cost-based selection method. According to a relevant official, the consultant, who will report to the FBISE chairman, is to devise strategy and make recommendations for improvement and modernisation of the board’s examination system in line with global trends and technological advancements. “Review of our examination system in comparison with other national and international bodies conducting secondary and higher secondary examinations; strengthening of monitoring, control and academic audit of the educational institutions affiliated with us, and development of educational standards for schools and colleges will also be the responsibilities of the consultant to be hired,” he told ‘The News’.
The official said the consultant would also be tasked with developing modules for the training of paper setters, examiners, examination supervisors, FBISE employees and principals of the educational institutions affiliated with the board. He said the consultant would be hired for six months term, which was extendable for six months.
