Former Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Syed Asif Hashmi Saturday sent a legal notice to the incumbent chairman of the Board Siddiq-ul-Farooq for leveling allegations against him in a press conference some days back.
The notice read as your malicious press conference hurt me and my family bodily and mentally so you are liable for prosecution and pay me Rs 500 million as damages. The notice added that in the press conference on March 11, 2015, Siddiq leveled serious, frivolous, baseless allegations against Hashmi without pronouncement of the court of law.
Advocate Aish Bahadur Rana on the behalf of Hashmi also wrote in the notice that allegation vis-à-vis selling of ETPB property No SE-36-R-140 and SE-36-R-142 situated at Railway Road Lahore, bearing Khasra No 170-171 needs demarcation and the case of the property was never placed before Hashmi.
Hashmi also expressed his serious reservations for spending a picnic inauguration function at Katas Raj Temple by spending more than Rs 3 million from the government exchequer.
Hashmi asked Siddiq to hold a press conference immediately and repudiate his allegations admitting his false allegations within seven days otherwise he will be sued in court.
