Blind murder case of journalist resolved

Rawalpindi: The police have, finally, traced blind murder of a local journalist, Anjum Muneeb Raja, mysteriously gunned down on midnight of March 1.

Anjum was targeted near PC hotel when he was heading towards his home from his office. Nobody witnessed the crime, however, some passersby spotted him in the pool of blood and informed the local police. The police shifted him in hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.

SSP Operations Mohammad Bin Ashraf told the newsmen in a press conference after the arrest of the suspected killer. Mohammad Bin Ashraf appreciated the performance of Potohar police saying that tracing a blind murder was outstanding performance of the police. He said that the Potohar police unearthed the mysterious case of blind murder within shortest time of two weeks.

He said SP Potohar Town Syed Ali was deputed for the investigation and arrest of the killer. SP Ali and his team, using his professional skills traced the blind murder and arrested the suspected killer identified as Qaisar Rehman Khokhar son of Nasir Uddin Khokhar resident of Farash Town Islamabad.

The SSP said that the suspect and deceased were friends since last two years and both joined Daily Qaumi Pukaar in December last year. Some controversy developed among them ending in the killing of Anjum Raja. Quoting the confessional statement, he said that the suspect trapped Anjum to this place and gunned him down and disappeared from the scene. The people engaged in the investigation of the case, collected evidences from various sources and made headway to the suspect and got him.
