NAB probe: Sikandar Sherpao asks CM to quit
CHARSADDA: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial head Sikandar Sherpao on Tuesday accused Chief Minister Pervez Khattak of corruption and said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had started probe against him in two corruption cases.
Addressing a gathering in Marghuz area, he said that the chief minister should step down until investigation was complete into the corruption allegations against him.
The QWP leaders including Muhammad Arif Paracha, Mufti Iftikhar and others were also present.
Sikandar Sherpao questioned the silence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan over corruption in Billion Tree Tsunami project.
“More cases of corruption against the PTI-led provincial government will soon surface,” he said.
He added that PTI Members Provincial Assembly indulged in horse-trading in the recent Senate election.
Sikandar Sherpao said that Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Imran Khan until recently made serious allegations against each other, but they joined hands for political gains.
The QWP leader pointed out that the horse-trading in the Senate election had harmed the democratic system in the country.
Sikandar Sherpao stressed that the politicians should take steps to bring an end to horse-trading and ensure the supremacy of the Parliament.
He said the Pakhtuns were deceived in the name of change. The QWP said that those who claimed to be the champions of the rights of the Pakhtuns also committed record corruption.
