Youth gunned down over enmity

GUJRANWALA: A youth was gunned down over an old enmity at Kot Barrey Khan on Tuesday.

Mohsin was allegedly gunned down by his rivals. Later, relatives of the deceased staged a demonstration by placing the body on GT Road near Qila Chand Bypass.

The protesters chanted slogans against the local police and alleged that the police were favouring the accused persons. On the other hand, the police said that one accused Ali Ahmed was arrested in the case.

TWO SWINDLERS HELD: CIA police on Tuesday arrested a two-member gang of swindlers and recovered cash from them. DSP Imran Abbas told that accused Arshad and Nadeem were allegedly involved in drawing cash of different people from banks fraudulently.

He said that the accused during preliminary investigation told that they made phone calls to different citizens showing them as bank officers and got secret information about their account and passwords from them. Later, the accused transferred heavy amounts to their own accounts. The police have registered a case and started investigations.

SIX HUMAN SMUGGLERS A RESTED: The FIA on Tuesday arrested six human smugglers.

Deputy Director Mufakhir Adeel told that the FIA teams raided Gujrat and Narowal and arrested Sajid Mehmood, Zulfiqar Ali, Abdul Sattar, Sajjad Ilyas, Naseer Ahmed and Muhammad Riaz and recovered 13 passports from them. Meanwhile, the FIA also arrested Sajid for preparing forged documents of United Kingdom. The accused was wanted to the FIA for the last seven years.

Protest against non-arrest of rapist: Relatives of a five-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped, staged a demonstration for not arresting the accused. The protesters alleged that accused Munawar had raped the minor girl but Alipur Chattha police were not arresting the accused. The protesters demanded immediate arrest of the accused.

DEMO: Rickshaw drivers on Tuesday protested against traffic police wardens. The protesters alleged that traffic wardens were not only issuing them challan tickets without any reason but also misbehaved with them.
