CM says people satisfied with PTI govt performance
NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Monday said that the people were satisfied with the performance of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and joining the party droves.
Speaking at a public meeting here, he said that the PTI represented the poor and middle class and has always worked for their welfare. The chief minister said the PTI-led provincial government had implemented its election manifesto in letter and spirit and served the people. Pervez Khattak said the corruption of the successive rulers earned a bad name for the country at the international level and increased the hardships of the common people.
He said that rulers with vested interest were a hurdle to provision of basic amenities of life to the people, adding the people were also responsible for the current state of affairs in the country as they used to cast votes to candidates in return for pavements of streets and construction of sewerage lines in the past.
The chief minister said the voters should hold accountable their parliamentarians-elect and vote on genuine issue like health, education, rights and provision of basic facilities not on pavements of streets and construction of sewerage lines. “People should elect dedicated candidates who has the spirit to serve the masses and the country,” he added.
The chief minister said the PTI challenged the corrupt elite and held them accountable. Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel, District Nazim Liaqat Khattak and others also spoke on the occasion. Several activists of other political parties also joined the PTI.
