Tariq, Zafarullah discuss teachers’ issue
Islamabad : Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry met with Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Law Barrister Zafarullah.
The two discussed the suggestions regarding regularisation process of the teachers working on daily wage basis in the government schools of the federal capital.
Barrister Zafarullah highlighted the legal aspects of the regularisation of teachers. On the occasion, director general of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) Hasnat Qureshi and the representatives of daily- wage teachers were also present.
The minister said the government was trying to regularise the services of daily wagers in line with the law. “It is amongst our top priority to resolve regularisation issue without delay," he said.
The daily wagers camped outside the National Press Club for more than eight weeks boycotting classes and exams in their schools, said they won't end strike until something tangible emerged on service regularisation and payment of withheld salary.
