PESHAWAR: The paramedics would stage a protest against in favour of their demands today.

The president of Paramedical Association LRH, Roidad Shah, in a statement on Tuesday stated that though the provincial government and Health Department were very cooperative, the administration of the Lady Reading Hospital was trying to harass the paramedics and other health employees on various accounts.

He said that the LRH administration made life miserable for employees and denied due rights to them. He said the hospital administration had issued notices to various associations to vacate their offices inside the hospital building and trying to occupy the hostel for paramedics.

He said the Medical Teaching Institutes (MTI) hospitals were giving shares to their employees but the LRH administration had stopped paying share to its employees.

Roidad Shah said the hospital administration had not appointed director paramedics despite the clear directions of the Peshawar High Court and secretary health in this regard and was also not promoting the grade-16 and 17 paramedics to the next grade.

He said that they would stage a peaceful protest and would not block any road or suspend the health services at LRH. He said the emergency cover would be provided to the patients during the strike.
