Protest against killing of innocent civilians in Syria
TIMERGARA: The activists of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), youth wing, on Wednesday staged protest against ongoing Russian bombardment on innocent civilians in Syria and expressed solidarity with them.
Carrying banners and placards inscribed with anti-Russia, Syria and Iran slogans, the protesters also blasted the rulers of Muslim countries for their silence on the issue.
Speaking on the occasion, JI local leaders Malik Shafiullah, Malik Sher Bahadur, JI Youth Wing leaders Farooq Hamidullah, Izharullah, Rehanullah and others said the rulers of Ummah had kept their criminal silence over the bloodshed of women, children and elderly persons in Syria. "Only condemnation and issuing statements by the government is not enough to stop massacre of innocent Muslims in Syria rather practical measures are needed to stop brutality in Syria," said one of the speakers.
They demanded the government to send troops for the help of innocent civilians in Syria and immediately cease relations with Russia, Iran and Syria. Coming down hard on Bashar al-Assad they said the Syrian president had unleashed brutality against innocent Muslims to appease Russia.
They also rejected the UN policy of keeping criminal silence over mass murders of civilian by Russian government, saying the UN was active to play role in Sudan to prepare grounds for a Christian state but it adopted the policy of wait and see in Syria.
