Colleges asked to pay salaries to guards

LAHORE
Prompted by unfortunate incident of killing of three traders by a private security guard on Wednesday, the Director Colleges directed principals of colleges of Lahore division to immediately pay salaries to private security guards of the colleges.
According to a notification, the principals have been directed to ensure payment of salaries to security guards by taking loan from the student funds of their respective colleges.
“The loan may be returned to the relevant students funds after receiving fund of budget from this Directorate/Higher Authority”, reads the notification. =In order to overcome the shortage of security guards at public colleges in the wake of APS Peshawar attack, private guards were hired by colleges across the province especially those falling in A+ and A categories.
