According to complainant Dilawar Hussain of Elahiabad, police had arrested his son Haider Ali and his two friends Jehanzeb and Dilawar in a theft case some days ago but allegedly implicated them in the murder of a schoolteacher. Later, police took a plea that they were on looting spree at Roshanwali Jhal on Samundri Road when a raiding police party reached there and the accused opened fire on them. Police also retaliated, which claimed the lives of the three boys.
On Monday night, when the bodies of Haider Ali, Jehanzeb and Dilawar were brought to Elahiabad from the Allied Hospital, their parents and relatives staged a demonstration against police on Satiana Road. Later, the protesters split into the groups and damaged cars, motorcycles and other vehicles on Satiana Road. They also damaged the vehicles on Jaranwala Road near Chowk Abdullahpur.
