PESHAWAR: The Khyber Youth Forum here on Friday protested the killing of a student belonging to the Bajaur Agency in an alleged fake police encounter in Karachi.
Aamir Afridi of the Khyber Youth Forum led the protesters, who had gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club. A number of youth from Fata joined the protest. The protesters holding banners chanted slogans against the government and the police.
Speaking on the occasion, Aamir Afridi said tribespeople were displaced from homes and sustained losses for the sake of peace restoration. He added despite all these sacrifices they were branded terrorists and continued to be killed in fake police encounters.
Other speakers said that earlier Naqeebullah Mahsud hailing from South Waziristan was killed in a fake police encounter in Karachi and now Ahmad Shah met the same fate.They demanded the government to bring the culprits to justice and compensate the bereaved families.
It may be mentioned here that Ahmad Shah, who hailed from Bajaur Agency, studied at the Zoology Department of the University of Karachi. He was allegedly killed in a fake police encounter in the port city.
