300 bureaucrats promoted
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has given approval of the Central Selection Board’s recommendations for promotion of over 300 officers, and former director general Lahore Development Authority is among the recommendees. According to official sources, these officers have been promoted from grade 19 to 20 and grade 20 to 21. Ahad Cheema is currently in the custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in connection with an investigation into the alleged corruption in LDA schemes.
The Selection Board held a meeting last month, on January 9-12 and sent recommendations for promotion of the officers. The PM Office had made some objections to the promotions. The Establishment Division removed these objections and again sent the recommendations to the Prime Minister’s Office for approval. On Thursday, the PM Office gave approval for the promotions.
