Scattered rain likely

LAHORE: Dry weather with scattered rain was witnessed in the city here Wednesday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.

Met officials said continental air is prevailing over most plain areas of the country. A fresh westerly wave is likely to affect western parts of the country tomorrow (Friday). They predicted that mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country.

However, scattered rain was observed in the city. Weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country, Met officials said, adding rain-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi Divisions, Fata, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Rainfall was recorded at Kalam (16mm), Dir (12mm), Parachinar (11mm), Mirkhani (09mm), Chitral (05mm), Drosh (04mm), Lower Dir (02mm), Balakot (01mm), Bagrote (03mm), Gupis (02mm), Rawalakot (02mm), Garhi Dupatta (01mm), Murree (02mm) and Lahore (trace).

Wednesday’s minimum temperature was recorded at Astore where mercury dropped down to -03°C while in Lahore, maximum temperature was 26°C, minimum was 12.8°C and humidity was 35 percent.
