Islamabad: Dr. Akhtar Aziz, assistant professor, IIU, being an external examiner has approved the thesis of Zafar Abbas, Department of Humanities (Linguistics and Literature), says a press release.
Zafar’s M.Phil research thesis topic was ‘A Comparative Genre-Based Study of Cross-Disciplinary Abstracts of.’ He secured an impressive CGPA that is 3.86 in M.Phil. The abstracts of Chemistry and Linguistics of M.Phil theses were analysed by applying Swales and Feak’s (2012) framework for writing an abstract.
The results of the study revealed that abstracts were found in less conformity with the model of Swales and Feak’s (2012). Dr. Aliya Zafar, principal research officer, Department of Humanities (Linguistics and Literature), COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad-Pakistan has supervised Abbas during the research work.
