The local authorities in collaboration with the forest department are running an active plantation campaign in Buner. The authorities have contacted teachers and other shareholders to play their role in the ongoing plantation drive to contribute towards creating a pollution-free environment. The growing environmental pollution is partly due to our own doing. We carry out development work without considering the effects of rapid industrialisation. In order to secure and safeguard our earth, there is only one solution: grow more trees. As a result, we will be able to breathe clean air and save ourselves from health hazards.
We should also take steps to counter deforestation. For a stable economy, the forest range of a country must be between 20 and 25 percent. But in our country the forest cover is less than 5 percent. It is essential that we act in a timely manner to increase the forest cover. Tree plantation drive should be carried out in all provinces so that the Pakistani people can live in a pollution-free country.
