Office-bearers for PTI Upper Chitral elected
CHITRAL: Rahmat Ghazi was elected as president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Upper Chitral district.
Likewise, Muhammad Rasool was elected as president of Mastuj sub-division and Sultan Faraz as general secretary, Habib Sarwar as president of Markhow and Sher Faraz as general secretary.
The newly elected office-bearers thanked the supporters for electing them and vowed to strengthen the party there. They said that notification of making upper Chitral a new district had been issued. They claimed that the Chief Minister Pervez Khattak during a meeting had directed them to hold inter-party election to choose office-bearers for the newly established district.
Meanwhile, the PTI workers from lower Chitral disputed the claim of dividing the Chitral district into two and making upper Chitral a district. They said that it was just a verbal announcement and no practical steps were taken to give the Upper Chitral the formal status of a district.
