UoP VC wants quality assurance process ensured
PESHAWAR: University of Peshawar (UoP) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Asif Khan has said that quality assurance process must be ensured to take the university to new phase of development.
He was speaking at the quality assurance workshop at the Convocation Hall on Wednesday. All the faculty members of the university attended the meeting.
The VC said that diversity of ideas, skills and talent needed to be protected and empowered at the university level. He opined that faculty development was core issue at each and every university especially at the newly established ones in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Earlier, Muhammad Taimoor Khan, who was among the pioneers of establishing quality enhancement cells in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said the departmental, institutional and national level quality assurance processes must complement one another to ensure meeting local and national standards. He suggested bi-monthly surveys and assessment at the semester level to raise educational standards.
Quality Enhancement Lead at IMSciences Dr Bisharat Hameed called upon the participants to create social responsibility and services delivery mechanism to broaden the impact of students learning outcomes. He said that projects in higher education institutions don’t need to have financial viability and should be a resource for society contribution.
