Rs10m cheque given to Naheed Akhtar

LAHORE: The representative of Punjab government, Muhammad Ahmed Khan, presented a cheque for Rs10million to legendary singer Naheed Akhtar at the Alhamra Arts Center, The Mall, on Tuesday. A summary had been sent to the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Shareef for financial support to the ever green singer after the death of her husband Asif Ali Pota, who was a journalist and playwright. At the cheque giving ceremony, Executive Director of Alhamra Arts Council, Capt (Retd) Atta Muhammad Khan said the Punjab government was making efforts to help deserving artists in unfavorable circumstances.
