Islamabad : A four day hands-on workshop on ‘Conference Management’ using the project management techniques is being organised at Institute of Space Technology (IST) Islamabad from February 12.
The objective of the workshop is to present a holistic, integrated and project management centred approach for managing a conference. This interactive workshop is designed for professionals and academicians to organise a conference from conceptualisation phase till closing of the conference. It is designed on the principles of international standards of conference management processes and aligned with the tools and techniques of project management in order to make it more systematic and effective.
The participants from elite research & development organisations, academia and the industry have joined workshop to enhance their Conference Management skills. The workshop aims to equip the attending personnel with the ability to develop a scope of the conference, define conference timeline and milestones, designing and managing conference publications techniques and conference technical program development procedure. Participants shall be able to identify sponsors and risks, to manage conference teams and committees and to develop a conference’s publicity, outreach, communication and execution plan. Participants will gain a comprehensive insight into conference management using Microsoft Project technique.
Dr. Najam Abbas, an assistant professor at IST is the facilitator of this workshop. He is a professional trainer and has an experience of over 15 years in the relevant field and has trained over 3000 professionals from academia, R&D and NGOs in the field of personal effectiveness and greatness.
