Vendor shot for demanding payment for fruit
A fruit vendor was shot and injured by two men for demanding money for the fruit they had bought from him in Gulistan-e-Jauhar on Thursday.
SHO Farooq Sanjrani said two men on a motorbike pulled up beside the pushcart of Muhammad Ahmed, 23, and asked him to pack some fruit. When Ahmed demanded the payment, the pillion passenger drew out a gun and shot him in the thigh. The motorcyclists then rode away. The vendor was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him safe after performing surgery. Police started a search for the culprits.
Rangers arrests
The Sindh Rangers arrested six alleged criminals on Thursday. An alleged target killer, Juma Mir alias Zahir Gilgiti, was arrested during a raid in Sharifabad. He is wanted for target killings and robberies.
In Ittehad Town, the Rangers nabbed two Lyari gangsters, Adil Shah and Habib, while three street criminals, namely Sheraz Muhammad, Arshad and Ghulam Murtaza, were apprehended in other raids.
