This refers to the editorial ‘IMF proposal’ (Feb 8). It has been appropriately highlighted that the restructuring of the NFC awards would be strongly protested by the provinces. The protest will adversely affect harmonious relations between the federal and provincial governments.
It is a fact that foreign investors are reluctant to come forward in any country which doesn’t know how to cope with political stability. Direct investment in Pakistan cannot make headway in an environment of political conflicts and controversies. The IMF must be apprised of long term cost of confrontation and its repercussions on the state of the economy.
