Stallholder loses finger and stall as CDA demolishes kiosks in G-6

The enforcement wing of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) with the assistance of Islamabad administration and police deprived poor kiosks holder in Sector G-6 of their bread and butter earning opportunity in the name of security.
During the operation, one of poor employees working at a tea stall was also deprived of his finger. The separated part of the finger which was cut with some sharp edge was found near the kiosk.
The CDA sources said that some doctors of the Federal Government Services Hospital (FGSH) wanted the tea stalls and tuck shops to be removed for unknown reasons. The operation was led by a deputy director of CDA enforcement wing, magistrate Raza Chandio and SHO Police of the concerned police station. The enforcement team used heavy machinery and completely smashed the kiosks.
“Not a single kiosk is left there. The job was done even better with the help of police and magistrate,” deputy director Ammad proudly said after carrying out the operation. However, it was still mystery that a single site was selected to conduct the operation in the name of security. Interestingly, no permission was sought from senior officials of the civic body to launch the operation. “I will look into the matter as to why the operation was conducted against licence holders under pretext of security,” a senior official when contacted by this correspondent said.
