ISLAMABAD: Jang Media Group senior director and APNS President Syed Sarmad Ali hosted dinner in honour of visiting China Daily Wen Zongduo Deputy Editor-in-Chief in Serena Hotel Tuesday evening.
He is undertaking visit to Pakistan these days and having meetings with the prominent media personalities. Senior journalists, including The News Rawalpindi Editor Aamir Ghauri, and diplomats from Chinese Embassy also attended the event. The guests discussed increasing cooperation between the two countries in various spheres including the media.
They also had candid discussion about the scope of further cooperation in the media of Pakistan and China. The prestigious Chinese daily’s deputy editor-in-chief praised Jang Group, The News and Geo television for highlighting the expanding ties of Pakistan and China with special reference to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He appreciated that The News is the first Pakistani newspaper that has started publishing two full pages in Chinese language on regular basis. The effort is being eulogised in China, he added. The participants also had frank chat about the common challenges being faced by the two countries and regional situation also came under discussion.
The participants also expressed resolve to continue to work for further strengthening of relationship of the two countries and give maximum coverage to the activities taking place in the respective countries. Wen Zongduo thanked Syed Sarmad Ali for affording him opportunity to have interaction with the fellow senior newspersons from Pakistan.
