Kashmir Day: Rallies organised in Twin Cities to express solidarity with people of held Kashmir

Islamabad: As the whole Pakistani nation got united on the Kashmir Solidarity Day, the political parties, human rights organisations and civil society took out rallies and held protest demonstration to express solidarity with people of Indian Occupied Kashmir in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The local leaderships of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) of twin cities took out rallies from different parts of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The JI Rawalpindi ameer Syed Arif Shirazi and other leaders including Rana Muhammad Jawad, Uzair Hamid, Muhammad Waqas Khan led rallies which after converging on Murree Road reached Aabpara Chowk via Islamabad Highway.

The participants of the rallies were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans condemning brutalities against people of Occupied Kashmir and express solidarity with them. In Islamabad, the JI rallies were led by Islamabad ameer Zubair Farooq Khan, general secretary Amir Usman and others. The rallies gathered at Aabpara Chowk where it was addressed JI central ameer Senator Sirajul Haq Khan.

The Muslim Institute, a research organization held a rally from Kulsoom Plaza to Shaheed-e-Millat secretariat. The rally was led by Abdul Hameed Lone, Altaf Hussain Wani, Farzana Yaqoob Malik, Fauzia Nasreen and others.

The participants of the rally were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans with demands from the world community, international media and human rights organizations take notice of atrocities in Occupied Kashmir.

The Muslim Students Federation organized ‘Azadi-e-Kashmir Seminar’ which was addressed by Pakistani and Kashmiri leaders calling for implementation of UN resolutions in order to give right of self-determination to Kashmiris.
