KARACHI: Pakistan’s wheelchair cricket team made history by beating hosts Nepal in all three T20 matches and winning the International Wheelchair Cricket Winter Cup series.
The team members were recently hosted at the JS Group’s head office and their performance was widely appreciated.
Jahangir Siddiqui, Chairman JS Bank, Mrs Mahvash Siddiqui, Chairperson Mahvash and Jahangir Siddiqui Foundation (MJSF), said on the occasion that they were happy to have provided the specialised Walkabout Foundation wheelchairs to the Pakistan team.
The team’s excellent performance has been widely appreciated especially since this was the first time that the national wheelchair team won this title. Dawar, who led Pakistan to the series win in Kathmandu, appreciated MJSF for supporting the team.
He stated that the specialised wheelchairs provided them a lot of flexibility to perform to their best capabilities.
“We look forward to continue supporting the Pakistan team and have them give this nation many more victories to celebrate,” Muhammad Ali Charanya, representative of MJSF, said.
MJSF is also organising a domestic cricket competition which will feature teams from 12 cities across Pakistan.
