Killing of man protested

NAWABSHAH: People, protesting the killing of a young man in a late night police raid at his home, on Saturday staged a demonstration on the National Highway and blocked the passage of traffic.

Relatives and villagers said that Mahram Ali, 18, was sleeping at his home, when a police team barged into the house at 2am midnight. They said that one policeman captured Mahram Ali, while the SHO fired at his neck, killing him on the spot.

Following the incident, the demonstrators immediately blocked the National Highway for traffic. A police team held talks with the demonstrators demanding the registration of FIR against the police officials involved in the murder. Later, SSP Sajid Amir Suddozai ordered the registration of FIR against SHO Daulatpur Muhammad Rasheed Lodhi, ASI Abdul Latif and four other policemen. After the registration of FIR against the police officials involved in the murder, the villagers ended the sit-in.
