LAHORE: The 32nd Lahore International Book Fair (LIBF) which started at Expo Centre here on Thursday attracted a large number of people on the first day.
Punjab Minister for School Education Rana Mashhood inaugurated the five-day book fair which offers thousands of books on a variety of topics. Dozens of national and international publishers have set up stalls at the book fair. Besides book stalls, the fair offer visitors especially children a number of games and storytelling sessions.
Speaking after inaugurating the fair, the minister said public response to the book fair showed the importance of books and the book reading culture. He said Punjab government always supported such healthy and positive activities.
Rana Mashhood said Lahore International Book Fair was one of the oldest and biggest book fairs in the country and provided a wonderful opportunity to people to explore the world of books.
An opening ceremony was also organised where a number of people spoke and highlighted the importance of books and book reading culture. LIBF Trust Chairman Zubair Saeed and others were also present on the occasion.
