KARACHI: Inspector General of Police Sindh AD Khawaja on Saturday said he would have arrested former SSP Rao Anwar, a nominated accused in Naqeebullah Mehsud extrajudicial killing case, if he had known where Anwar was hiding.

Talking to journalists about Naqeebullah Mehsud’s extrajudicial killing, the IG Sindh said the Supreme Court has given three days time to arrest the former SSP.

To a question, he said Anwar should face the court proceedings instead of absconding.

“I think he [Rao Anwar] should surrender and face the court,” he said.

While responding to a question about the Supreme Court's order to arrest Rao Anwar within the next three days, IG Khawaja said the police would try its best to arrest him.

When asked whether he knew where Rao Anwar is hiding, he said he would have arrested Rao Anwar, if he had known about his hideout.
