Eman Fatima case reopens: Police personnel who killed Mudassir in encounter summoned

KASUR: A high-level inquiry into the Eman Fatima case of child molestation has started in Kasur, with the Joint Investigation Team directing the relevant police officers to appear before it.

Investigations into the case in which the four year old Eman was molested and subsequently murdered and her alleged killer Mudassar was also killed in a suspected staged encounter have reopened.

The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has summoned the police personnel who killed the alleged accused police personnel for recording their statements today.

On Feb 25, 2017, Kasur’s Saddar Police Station’s former sub-inspector Younus Dogar, sub-inspector Muhammad Ali, ASI Tanveer, constables Amir, Abid Hussain, Khalid and Iftikhar had allegedly killed a man, Mudassir over molestation charges.

According to sources, the Kasur police have taken six police personnel into custody including sub-inspector Muhammad Ali, ASI Tanveer, constables Amir, Abid Hussain, Khalid and Iftikhar. However, former SHO Younus Dogar, DSP Mirza Rasheed and other officials, who gave the order to kill the alleged accused Mudassir have not been inquired yet.
