Action against squatters ordered
LAHORE: Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) chairman Siddiq-ul-Farooq has given two months to all administrators of the trust to take action against all those who have occupied the board land.
Addressing to an administrators’ conference at his office on Wednesday, the ETPB chairman asked all the administrators to take action for restoration of hidden lands of the trust and collect long pending dues within the next two months. He directed them to report him every week about their efforts in this regard.
Farooq said will laud all officers who performed well but would also take strict action against the low performers. He directed the auctions of trust properties and land may be completed by April 30 this year.
RESCUE: The third course of Community Action for Disaster Response (CADRE) started here at the Managers Training Centre (MTC) on Wednesday. Some 20 officers will be trained under this course at Emergency Services Academy (ESA) Rescue-1122. The ESA registrar inaugurated four-day course for establishing Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) in all union councils of Punjab.
The course was designed for capacity building of District Emergency Officers (DEOs) to play role in safer communities across the province by involving Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs). The course will include practical simulation exercise to assess, analyse and evaluate skills of the participants.
ACCIDENTS: A total of 794 road accidents were reported in the Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue-1122) in all 37 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Reportedly, nine lives were lost and 499 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals. However, some 404 victims with minor injuries were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid.
According to the statistics, 406 drivers, 13 underage drivers, 119 pedestrians and 387 passengers were among the victims of these road accidents. It showed that 201 accidents were reported in Lahore, 68 in Faisalabad and 61 in Multan.
