Sunflower cultivation
A spokesman for Punjab Agriculture Department has said that the department has issued schedule for growers regarding sunflower cultivation. According to a statement issued on Tuesday, for this purpose, Punjab is divided into three zones. The first zone comprises Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan, Khanewal, Multan, Vehari and Bahwalnagar where the farmers can cultivate sunflower till January 31. The second zone consists of Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Lodhran, Rajanpur and Bhakkar where sunflower can be sowed till February 10. The third zone comprises Mianwali, Sargodha, Khusab, Jhang, Sahiwal, Okara, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Gujaranwala, Mandi Bahudin, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikupora, Nankana Sahib, Sheikupora, Narowal, Attock, Rawalpindi and Chakwal where the cultivators can cultivate sunflower from Jan 25 till last February.
