GHALLANAI: A local organisation working for the rights of the disabled people have asked the government to provide facilities to the physically challenged persons in Mohmand Agency.
Talking to The News, Mohmand Khan, head of Parvaz Barai Mazooran, said there were 1,200 disable persons in Mohmand Agency who lacked the basic facilities.
He asked the government and the political administration to issue health cards and build an educational complex to provide health and education facilities to the special persons.
Mohmand Khan lamented that successive governments had done nothing for the welfare of the physically-challenged persons to make them useful citizens of the society.
“I have five children who are disabled. They are living a difficult life,” he said.
He added that he had submitted several applications to the Social Welfare Department and the elected parliamentarians from Mohmand Agency to work for the wellbeing of the special persons, but to no avail.
