Woman’s killer jailed for life

A local court awarded life imprisonment to the killer of a woman while a female co-accused in the case was acquitted of the charges.
Additional district and sessions judge for district Central, Rashida Siddiqui, found Mehboob Ali guilty for the murder of Alia Khatoon.
Ali and co-accused Qurat-ul-Ain had been charged with killing the victim during a robbery in Nazimabad area on November 24, 2009.
A murder case was lodged against the two suspects but since Qurat-ul-Ain became a crown witness (approver) in the case, the heirs of deceased Alia pardoned her. The co-accused later deposed her statement against the key accused, Mehboob Ali, and admitted that she had assisted him in the commission of robbery. She told the court that the convict had killed Alia.
