SIALKOT: A man was murdered over an old enmity at Rajao Harpal village in the limits of Sadr police station on Thursday.
According to the police, M Tariq (35) was allegedly gunned down by Shamim and his unidentified accomplice. The accused persons managed to escape from the spot. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
FOUR HELD WITH ILLEGAL ARMS: Begowala police arrested four accused and recovered illegal arms from them at Lambianwala on Thursday. Those arrested include Abdullah, Zahid Khan and M Hussain. They belonged to Khyber Agency. The police also recovered four Kalashnikovs, eight magazines and hundreds of bullets from them. Cases have been registered against the accused.
2 DRUG PUSHERS HELD: Police arrested two women and recovered narcotics from them here on Thursday. Ghazala Bibi was arrested with 14.4kg hashish from Khajuriwala village in the limits of Kotli Loharan police station and Nighat Perveen was arrested with 2.5kg hashish from Malke Kalan village in the limits of Muradpur police station. Separate cases have been registered against the accused women.
4 HELD FOR BETTING: Cantonment police arrested four people on the charge of betting on cricket matches here on Thursday.
The police, on a tip-off, raided Cantonment Road and arrested accused Khalid Khan, Amjad Ali, Mushtaq Masih and Akhtar Mehmood with Rs 25,620 stake money while eight other gamblers managed to escape. Cases have been registered against the 12 accused.
