LAHORE: Lahore Police claimed to have resolved a murder case of a 20-year-old model with the arrest of three accused on Saturday. The main accused identified as Uzma Rao alias Tooba confessed that she had killed Abeera on refusing to help her in murdering her ex-husband, Babar Butt.
SSP (Investigations) Rana Ayaz Saleem told reporters during a press conference at his office that Uzma also confessed to killing news channel cameraman Yusuf Khokhar, a few months back, by poisoning him. She had killed him because he allegedly had played a role in divorcing her. The body of the journalist was found from a park, the SSP said. The other two accused are identified as Farooq-ur-Rehman and Zeeshan. Uzma’s daughter had died due to illness a few months ago as her ex-husband had refused to pay for her treatment. On which, she had nursed a grudge and decided to kill him, the SSP said.
Abeera had met her in a hotel where they exchanged mobile numbers and became friends. After some time, Abeera shifted to her place. The accused had shared his plan to kill her husband and asked her for help.
The victim had first agreed but later refused. On which, she decided to kill her too, the SSP said. The SSP added Farooq and Zeeshan knew about the murder of the model. Farooq had introduced Zeeshan to Uzma who had provided her the poison. The SSP said that they have almost solved the case of murders of Abeera and the cameraman.
