LANDIKOTAL: Defence Minister Khurram Dastagir on Wednesday visited Torkham border and checked border security.
The federal minister along with Frontier Corps Inspector General (IGFC) Major General Muhammad Waseem reached Landikotal army garrison in helicopters. He was taken to the Torkham border, where he was warmly welcomed. He was briefed about the overall security situation on the Pak-Afghan border.
Khurram Dastagir checked the ongoing work on the border fencing. The security was put on high alert during the visit.
Extra security contingents were deployed on the Torkham-Landikotal Road.
