LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Tuesday sought arguments from both sides on petitions moved by students of Bahauddin Zakariya University’s Lahore campus seeking recognition of their degrees.
A new full bench comprising Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti and Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan took up the matter. Earlier, a full bench headed by Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi was hearing the matter but it was dissolved due to unavailability of Justice Naqvi at the Principal seat. BZU’s officials and law officers appeared before the court. The students said that the varsity had refused to recognise their degrees due to which their future was at stake.
