Aisam, Marcin reach ASB Classic quarters

KARACHI: Pakistan’s tennis ace Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his partner Marcin Matkowski from Poland reached the quarter-finals of ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand, on Tuesday. In the first round of men’s doubles category, the unseeded pair of Aisam and Marcin, ranked 31st and 40th, respectively, defeated the wild card Indian pair of Leander Paes and Purav Raja 6-7(4), 7-6(8), 10-7 in men’s doubles first round. They will face second seed pair of Raven Klaasen from South Africa and Michael Venus from New Zealand, ranked 25th and 15th, respectively, in the quarter-final.
