Prayer leader killed in Torghar

MANSEHRA: Unidentified gunmen killed the prayer leader of a mosque in Madakhel area in Torghar district on Saturday night. It was learnt that Maulana Shamsul Haq was going home after Isha prayers when armed men opened indiscriminate fire on him, leaving him seriously injured. He was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The police lodged a case and conducted raids to arrest the accused, who fled the scene. Also, the Mansehra Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered three kilograms of hashish from his residence. Station House Officer Shahzad Khan told reporters that a police party led by him raided a house in Balla area and arrested Mohammad Abid. He said three kilogram of hashish was seized.
