Workshop
DIR: A non-governmental organisation, SHARP, has organised a one-day workshop for the police here on Saturday.
The aim of the workshop was to raise awareness about basic human rights, particularly refugees’ rights.
SHARP project director, Memoona Khan, Bilal Muhammad and Akif Israr delivered lectures on basic human rights, especially refugees’ rights.
They told the participants how to treat the Afghan refugees during their stay in Pakistan and briefed about how to deal with Afghan refugees if they were detained.
The participants were also told about national and international laws on Afghan refugees.
The participants of the workshop said it was a fruitful workshop that informed them about laws on refugees and increased their knowledge.
Memoona Khan thanked District Police Officer Pir Shahab Ali Shah for organising the workshop in Dir police lines.
