PESHAWAR: A high level meeting on Tuesday reviewed the pace of work and related issues in execution of Peshawar Bus Rapid Service (BRT) project.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Muhammad Azam Khan presided the meeting. High ranking officials and all stakeholders of the project also attended the meeting, said a handout.
The meeting discussed and reviewed the practical progress on the project and discussed various issues, faced during the executions on ground and discussion was made in depth on each and every segment of the project.
The extension/reconstruction of additional part to the Pir Zakori Overhead Bridge/ Flyover on GT Road was discussed with special reference to the future traffic burden and its early execution was approved as the project was essential for the smooth traffic flow in future and is benefitted to the public at large.
During the discussion special attention was made to the pillars erection in construction of BRT ranging from Lady Reading Hospital to Sunehri Masjid Peshawar Cantt; passing through Khyber Bazar, Shubba Bazar and Civil Quarters areas.
The Chief Secretary directed all the concerned quarters of the project to response and solve every issue of the project as per the rules of engineering without wasting time and observing the given time frame strictly. He said “unless we face the problems, it could not be solved”.
The Chief Secretary said that the execution of this mega project would be made possible easily if all the concerned stakeholders should think coordinately with a fair aim and devotion.
The process for provision of busses, construction of parking plaza and designs of stations on the BRT route were also discussed in detail.
