KARACHI: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Monday that offering salary to Ulema by a party was just like mixing of poison with sugar.

He said that the decisions of a party established on wrong ideology could not justify its wrong ideas. He said that restoration of Muttahidda Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) was aimed at steering the nation out of different problems and commotion saying that bringing peace and improving economy were pre-requisites for country’s stability.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman was expressing these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Darul Hadees at Jamia Suffah, Baldia. He said that holding rulers responsible for all the problems was not justified saying that individuals should reform themselves.

Fazlur Rehman said, “Muslims are spiritually a tribe with no geographical boundary as the concept of nationality is not contrary to the Quranic injunctions but it is wrong and against the Quranic orders when the element of materialism and discrimination is included in it and spirituality is put behind.”

He said that there was propaganda against the religious seminaries in the world although Ulema (religious teachers) teach the mankind and impart teaching for survival of mankind. Perhaps this act is not liked by opponents and, therefore, the entire world and governments are involved in the propaganda against the Madaris (religious seminaries).

Fazlur Rehman said that no law conflicting with Shariah could be framed in any Islamic state. He said, “There is room of reformation if a party based on comprehensive Islamic ideology does the same.”

Senate Deputy Chairman Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, leaders of JUI-F Maulana Rashid Mehmood Soomro, Qari Muhammad Usman, former MPA, and a large number of other Ulema were present on the occasion.
