PPC elects office-bearers
PESHAWAR: Alamgir Khan and Shahabuddin were elected president and general secretary of the Peshawar Press Club in the annual election on Saturday.
Alamgir Khan polled 229 votes against 174 secured by his rival Ali Hazrat Bacha.
Shahabuddin secured 196 votes to defeat his rival Fida Khattak who bagged 193 votes.
Asif Nisar secured 185 votes to become the PPC vice-president. His rival Faridullah Khan bagged 180 votes.
Yasir Ali was chosen the finance secretary by bagging 209 votes. His rival, Fakhruddin, got 187 votes.
Jamil Mohmand was elected joint secretary by securing 197 votes. His rival, Bilal Ahmad, secured 189 votes.
Ten members elected to the Governing Body included Syed Bukhar Shah, Nasir Hussain, Mehmood Jan Babar, Fida Adeel, Shamim Shahid, Shahid Hameed, Arshad Aziz Malik, Arif Yousafzai, Tariq Afaq and Wisal Yousafzai. The election committee was headed by Mushtaq Yosafzai.
