2.6m Fesco consumers getting meter reading through SMS
FAISALABAD: Over 2.6 million customers of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) are getting information about their meter reading through Short Message Service (SMS) on their mobile phones after becoming part of Fesco network. In this connection, Fesco administration has thanked the customers for their full cooperation. Next step of Fesco is to include its all 3.7 million customers in the Fesco network so that customers could not only get the information about their meter reading but also get information about the suspension of electricity, electricity bill and other information easily through mobile phone. In this context Fesco appealed all customers to register the mobile number of head of family or any family members on demand of Fesco official so that they could be facilitated through SMS service. Fesco administration had decided to introduce the new SMS service to information the Fesco consumers consisting upon 8 districts about their meter reading and started the data collection from November. CEO Fesco Mujahid Islam issued orders to collect the mobile numbers of domestic, industrial, commercial and agriculture consumers and registered these numbers on Fesco system. After the completion consumers data base they would be informed about the meter reading through SMS. Now Fesco has started the SMS of meter reading on mobile numbers of customers which are included in Fesco data base.
