LALAMUSA: Mismanagement marred class 5 examinations being held under the aegis of the Punjab Examination Commission.
Hundreds of students with their parents reached the centres to appear in English paper on Tuesday. Later, they were told by the centre heads that the paper was cancelled as they had not received the same. The parents have demanded the high-ups concerned look into the matter and take action against those responsible for the mismanagement.
It is learnt that English paper is expected to be held today (Wednesday) while Islamiat paper will be held at 11am and Urdu paper at 2pm tomorrow (Thursday). When contacted, the Gujrat Education EDO was not available.
BAHAWALPUR: Hundreds of parents of class 5 students staged a demonstration against the Punjab Examination Commission for cancelling English paper at the last moment here on Tuesday.
Talking to newsmen, the protesting parents said that when they with their children reached the centres, they were informed that the paper had been cancelled. They have demanded the chief minister take action against the officers concerned responsible for it.
When contacted, Education EDO Ch Bashir Ahmad said that the Punjab Examination Commission officials had informed him that the paper had been cancelled due to non-delivery of question papers at the examination centres.
