Ammar Jaleel nominated for ‘Kamal-e-Fun Award’ 2016
Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) Chairman Dr Muhammad Qasim Bughio Monday in a press conference held here announced selection of ‘Kamal-e-Fun Award’ 2016 for renowned writer Ammar Jaleel.
‘Kamal-e-Fun Award’ worth Rs1,000,000 is the highest literary award in the field of literature for recognition of lifetime’s achievement in creative and research work. During the press conference, Dr Muhammad Qasim Bughio also announced the National Literary Award for the year 2016, given on the best literary books written during the year in Urdu and other Pakistani languages.
The panel of judges consisted on well-known writers and scholars including Zaheda Hina, Asghar Nadeem Syed, Madad Ali Sindhi, Muhammad Ayub Baloch, Dr Abdul Razaq Sabir, Dr Nazeer Tabassum, Hafeez Khan, Dr Inam-ul-Haq Javed, Dr Aslam Taseer, Muhammad Afsar Sajid, and Dr Tahseen Firaqui held a meeting on Monday presided by Zahida Hina.
According to the decision of the panel ‘Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal Award’ was given to Zafar Iqbal on his book ‘AbbTak’ in the category of Urdu poetry,’ Baba-e-Urdu Molvi Abdul Haq Award’ to Nasir Abbas Nayyer on his book Urdu ‘Adab Kee Tashkeel-e-Jadeed’,’ Syed Waris Shah Award’ to Parveen Malik on her book ‘Kasyan Da Paani’ in Punjabi language, ‘Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai Award’ to Dr. Ghulam Ali Alana on his book ‘Ganan Shanasi’ in Sindhi language, ‘Khushhal Khan Khattak Award’ to Syed Tahir Bukhari on his book ‘Tanqeed-o-Adabi Muferdat’ in Pashto language and ‘Mast Tawakli Award’ to A. R Daad on his book ‘Dar Kasehi Lab Zank’ in Balochi language.
‘Khwaja Ghulam Fareed Award’ was given to Rifat Abbass on his book ‘Ein Narangi Ander’ in Seraiki language, aj Muhammad Tajal Award’ o Abdul Qayum Bedar on his book ‘Brahui Stage Drama’ in Brahuo language, ‘Saeen Ahmad Ali Award’ to Ahmad Hussain Mujahid on his book ‘Qenchi’ in Hindko language in English language, ‘Pitras Bukhari Award’ to Ejaz Rahim on his book ‘Sacred Thirsts, Secular Hunger’ and ‘Muhammad Hasan Askari Award’ to Shahid Hina on his book ‘Muntakhab Sindhi Kahanian’. The award money of Rs200,000 will be given to each of award winner for the National Literary Award 2016.
